For mental health professionals, the court process often evokes feelings of dread and panic. For many, the idea of going to court can be overwhelming and uncomfortable. Testifying, in particular, can bring up a myriad of questions: Do I have to testify? What do I do with this subpoena? How will testifying affect my relationship with my client? Join us as we discuss the process of testifying through the lens of our professional ethics and discuss some practical advice for interacting in the court process and testifying.
Presenters Bio
Cindy Mailhot is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of court experience and currently supervises and trains mental health professionals. Mary Gagnon is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience in the supervision and training of mental health professionals. They have co-facilitated a number of trainings for mental health and education professionals throughout the state.
