Not a day goes by that the words “opiate epidemic” are not heard in media references of Maine news. This overview of opiate addiction will look at the causes, effects on health and wellbeing, and trends in treatment. We will follow some clients from first use, through treatment and their process of recovery. Client’s with addictive disorders have many needs and provide unique challenges for providers. A well informed Case Manager, along with other providers, can assist clients with the nuts and bolts of rebuilding their lives.

Presenter Bio

Luanne Rhoades LCPC,LADC,CCS has been involved in mental health and addiction treatment for many years. She is currently the Outpatient Therapy Director at Health Affiliates Maine. Health Affiliates Maine has developed a network of clinicians to provide counseling and case management for those recovering from opiates and other addictions. This training is worth 1 Contact Hour. Light breakfast will be provided.
