Health Affiliates Maine has an opening for a Medical Billing and Support Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time, 40 hr/wk, role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the billing and support functions, including the initiation of goals and procedures, overseeing daily operations, and coordinating office efforts to expedite payment of accounts and continued processing of provider and client enrollment.
  • Supervises hourly employees in performance of tasks associated with their individual responsibilities.
  • Ensures appropriate and professional communication with payers, affiliates, and internal staff.
  • Assist the Operations Director. Performs designated duties when they are absent.
  • Implements quality and performance improvement measures for the office.
  • Participates in the development of unit policies and procedures.
  • Uses a wide variety of communication formats to keep staff regularly informed and trained with one to one and team meetings.
  • Reviews system generated billing, collections, and enrollment reports to monitor team goals and achievements.
  • Communicates issues that are preventing timely and accurate job responsibilities to internal teams for performance improvement process.
  • Reviews daily activity to monitor specific issues, as well as recurring issues and resolution.
  • Monitors the revenue cycle activities and adjusts for any issues.
  • Recommends future course of action based on data interpretation and recommends system changes, as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in weekly management meetings.

Minimum Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Experience or training with ICD-10 and or HCPCS Coding Systems as well as CM-1500 Claims Processing.
  • Supervisory Experience in a Medical Billing Environment.
  • Familiar with Medicaid (Maine Care), Medicare and Commercial Billing Regulations.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
