Innovative Counseling & Consulting

I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2016. In addition, I became a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Certified Clinical Supervisor in 2019. I was born and raised in Washington county. Growing up in a small community I was able to recognize the need as well as the barriers to accessing mental health and substance abuse treatment. As I pursued my bachelor’s and then my master’s degree, I always knew both my personal and professional growth would lead me back home. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Behavioral Science and Community Studies with a concentration in applied psychology from the University of Maine at Machias. I receive my Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Husson University. I provide services to adults, individuals, children, adolescents, couples and families.

I select a treatment modality that best serves the need of my client. I utilize a mixture of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy as well as Supportive Therapy/Maintenance with more chronic mental health conditions. I have training in mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, grief/loss and mindfulness. I am also certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have years of experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

My counseling philosophy has always been related to self-exploration on the part of the client to increase their level of understanding and self-awareness. Let’s work together with evidence-based treatment and interventions to foster change and growth.

“It takes a deep commitment to change and an even deeper commitment to grow.” – Ralph Ellison
