Kayla Johnson, LCPC-C

I provide person-centered and holistic treatment to individuals and families of all ages. I am a Psychotherapist and Expressive Art Therapist that uses an integrative approach to treatment.

Expressive Arts Therapy (EXAT) is a participatory approach to therapy that combines the innate desire to create with healing. Expressive art therapists may use a combination of music, art, dance, drama, poetry and play as a therapeutic tool to initiate change within treatment. The goal is to create self-awareness, enhance relationships by creating trust and safety, and encourage emotional growth. Self expression comes from an intuitive place, providing us with access to a deep understanding of ourselves and others, paving a path to self discovery and radical acceptance.

I specialize in family work and have a background in early childhood development and maternal mental health.

I offer treatment within the perinatal phase of a woman’s life. I offer a curriculum based in Dance Movement Therapy and the Expressive Arts to provide women with a positive and healthy birth experience that extends into developing secure attachment and attunement with baby.

I utilize Play Therapy and Applied Behavioral Analysis paired with Conscious Discipline with children of all ages that carry developmental, intellectual and/or behavioral disorders.
